Some widows are not yet ready for a business. In the first months after a loss, the immediate problem is food, medicine, transport to a clinic, and keeping the children in school while the household finds its feet.
Our welfare support answers that moment with practical, dignified help: food and household essentials, contributions towards medical treatment, school basics for the children, and accompaniment to the offices, clinics or community leaders where a widow needs to be heard. We also help with bereavement counselling referrals and with the paperwork that follows a death, including guidance on a widow's legal rights to property and inheritance.
This support is time-limited by design. Its purpose is to carry a household through a crisis so that longer-term support — a business, a trade or schooling — can take hold.
